Today I’m grateful for…
1. A place to land when my mind starts racing.
2. Something simple and easy and opening in the essence of today—another Spring equinox to witness and love.
3. Little traditions with the kids that make big presses in time.
4. Picnics, Seders, the opening and closing of the big green chest that holds our symbolic sets for each season and informs small hands and hearts of the comforting circular nature of life.
5. And seasonal celebrations that write themselves in real time.
6. Inner arguments that bring resolve and humility.
7. Seeds to plant—as above so below.
8. Odin’s absolute inability to leave me alone when I’m writing my morning pages. Demands for hand tracing in my notebook…records of the obstreperous truths of my beautifully bombarded life.
9. Knowing later when I need a break and good reminder that everything is coming together and providing all we need—that I will mix ingredients and kneed dough for our Friday bread.
10. Dad’s latest album always on repeat in the cd player because the littles love to hear the “seashell song.”
11. Clanmothers latest essay The Symbolic Spark—about why we need creative community.
12. You for reading this.
